Business Development Manager | Volunteer Properties
Position Summary:
The Property Management Business Development Manager is responsible for driving company growth through the acquisition of new property management contracts, strategic partnerships, and expansion opportunities. This individual will develop and implement effective sales strategies, foster strong relationships with property owners, real estate investors, and brokers, and represent the company's brand and values in the marketplace. Salary + Commission
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
Identify, qualify, and pursue new property management opportunities across multifamily portfolios. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, cold calling, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships.
Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and property management service agreements.
Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns that support lead generation and brand visibility.
Manage budgets, targets, and performance metrics related to business development.
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Client Relationship Management
Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence and industry visibility.
Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, investors, developers, real estate agents, and referral partners.
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring a seamless handoff to the operations team post-contract.
Follow up regularly with leads to maintain engagement and move prospects through the sales funnel.
Market Research & Strategy
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform growth strategies.
Provide insights and recommendations for expanding service offerings or entering new markets.
Analyze performance data to track ROI and refine outreach strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field (preferred).
3+ years of experience in property management, real estate sales, or business development.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Knowledge of property management practices, leasing, asset performance, and operational KPIs.
Ability to travel overnight as needed to support client pursuits, networking events, and industry engagements.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized.
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Real estate license (preferred or required depending on state laws).
