GNAA Advocacy Partners
National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC)
Based in Washington, D.C., NMHC is a national association representing the interests of the larger and most prominent apartment firms in the U.S. NMHC's members are the principal officers of firms engaged in all aspects of the apartment industry, including ownership, development, management, and financing. Nearly one-third of American households rent and over 14 percent of households live in a rental apartment (buildings with five or more units).
With its joint legislative partner, the National Apartment Association, NMHC serves as the apartment industry’s primary advocate on legislative and regulatory matters. The Council also conducts apartment-related research, produces strategic information on business-related issues, and promotes the desirability of apartment living.
Nashville Business Coalition
The mission of the Nashville Business Coalition (NBC) is to maintain a prosperous business environment by recruiting and supporting viable business-friendly candidates for countywide offices and hold them accountable by monitoring their votes on issues that minimize regulation or otherwise, limit business development. Since 1999 the NBC, a pro-business political action committee, has dedicated itself to electing business-friendly candidates who have made the long term economic vitality of Nashville a priority. These candidates understand the partnership that exists between the public and private sectors.
GNAA is a longstanding board member of the Nashville Business Coalition (NBC).
Metro Council elections are on the horizon. This election cycle opens up at least 19 out of the 40 seats at Metro Council, meaning nearly half will be new members. That many new council members will change the trajectory of our city’s economic engine.
Not to mention, policy proposals have been considered at Council in recent years that greatly impact our industry. From higher taxes to heightened fees for government access, and attempts to heighten requirements for the rental housing business leaders like you. Meanwhile, Nashville needs continued leadership on quality of life issues like housing, education, transit, trash, and infrastructure.
To do this work we need your help. GNAA has set a goal of raising $25,000 to assist in this effort. Please consider contributing to this overall goal.
Your donation will go directly to recruiting business-friendly candidates and supporting their campaigns to become Metro Council Members.
Checks may be mailed to GNAA, or you may donate here.
