GIS System Overview

We are very excited to announce our new online system is now active. The GNAA Statistics GIS System is available to all members. This system contains valuable information in comparing communities within each submarket. Looking at each tab, you can see communities mapped out and identified by color coding. This system is also mobile friendly! Keep a look out on GNAA's website for a video to show you how this system works when it appears on your membership.

Members that use the new GIS system will have on-demand access to GNAA’s statistical data collection via this website. The system is easy to navigate, with a menu of the GIS information available on the right side of the screen. There is a welcome page that highlights the new zoning information that aligns GNAA data with Metro Nashville. GNAA is now using the 14 zones that have been developed as part of Metro Nashville’s planning process for the future of the city.

The Apartment Community Explorer tab features all of the area-wide zones that include: Antioch-Priest Lake, Bellevue, Bordeaux-Whites Creek, Brentwood-Franklin, Donelson-Hermitage, Downtown, (and then on the drop down) East Nashville, Green Hills – Midtown, Hendersonville-Gallatin, Madison, Mt. Juliet-Lebanon, Murfreesboro, North Nashville, Parkwood-Union Hill, Robertson County, Smyrna-LaVergne, South East, South Nashville, Spring Hill-Columbia and West Nashville.  Within each tab the communities are listed alphabetically with a photo in addition to showing the location on the map. The latest quarterly summaries, available in PDF format, are available for viewing on the menu towards the bottom of the page.

When you click on a particular community on either the map or the picture reference column on the left, you will see all of the information that GNAA has gathered on that particular community, including current rates, amenities, floorplans, etc. This data reflects the most current quarterly collection of information.  If you want to see other properties near the location you have chosen, just zoom in on the map to see the other communities in the area.

This GIS system is a continual work in progress. The Statistics Committee will have frequent reviews of the system and will welcome any input users may have to make it the best statistical collection for the multifamily industry in middle Tennessee. Thank you to all of the people who have made this effort possible!
